CORRESPONDENT •'T CRETE FORTIFIED AS EASE. 1 REPORTED QUISLING MOVE IN ATHENS. (Bv Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) LONDON, April 29. According to the military correspondent of the ‘‘Mew York Times,” the last valiant Anzacs were evacuated from Greece today. He adds that British and Greek forces have fortified Crete as a base for offensive operations. 1 Today's communique in Cairo states: “Our withdrawal from Greece is continuing.” German troops are claimed in Berlin to be approaching the last harbours in the extreme southern and southwestern areas of Greece. It is claimed that these harbours are the only ones available to the fleeing British and Greek troops. The Budapest correspondent of the British United Press reports that the Greek radio announced that General Kollakoglu, commander of the Greek army which surrendered in the Epirus, formed a Government in Athens and later issued a proclamation charging the Royal family with having made a cowardly flight. The proclamation denied the King's right to represent the nation and appealed to Greek soldiers to cease opposing the Germans.
