Information in well-informed quarters in Greymouth indicates that there is grave dissatisfaction among gold dredge workers on the West Coast as the result of a delay in the making of a new award by the Arbitration Court, which heard the application two months ago. It was stated that unless something definite is done by the Court or the Government within a few days it is possible that the union will consider action which may drastically affect the smooth working of the industry, which employs 400 or 500 men. A telegram has been sent to the Minister of Labour urging immediate action on the new award.

Treasured Maori Relic. Mi - Riki Mairaki Taiaroa, of Taumutu, recently handed to the Rev. E. Te Tuhi and the Rev. R. P. Rakena a treasured tribal possession to be preserved for all time in the Centennial Memorial Museum of the Methodist Church at Otakou, according to the “Methodist Times." It is a genuine kawa-kawa greenstone showing primitive Maori workmanship. For seven generations it has been handed down as an heirloom of South Island Maoris. It is at present in the custody of the Rev. M. A. Rugby Pratt, awaiting transfer to the Methodist Memorial Museum.
