WOMEN’S EMERGENCY CORPS
MASTERTON BRANCH ACTIVITIES. PHYSICAL DRILL & OTHER CLASSES. Members of the Masterton Women’s 1 Emergency Corps are advised that the ■ physical drill class will recommence on Monday, April 28, in the Municipal Hall, from 6 .to 7 p.m. On the following Monday, the class will be held from 7 to 8 p.m. Members are asked to take special note of the abqve times. The Women’s Emergency Corps is calling for volunteers for a first aid unit, to function in an emergency as part of the Emergency Precautions Scheme. A course in first aid with the St. John’s Ambulance Association is compulsory, and if members have not already taken it. they must be prepared to do so. Stretcher drill and marching, one night a week, are also compulsory. This unit- is open to all who are interested, with the exception of the following, who are not eligible for membership: 1. Members of W.E.C. clerical records unit; 2 Members of W.E.C. or Red Cross transport unit; 3 ; Voluntary aids, or girls intending to do their 60 hours hospital duty, and to become voluntary aids. < It has been found impracticable to include in the transport unit those girls who took a course in mechanics last year, and passed the examination, but are unlicenced drivers, and it is desired to include them in the first aid unit. . Those wishing to enrol must obtain a form either at the drill class on Monday,. or from the secretary, Miss M. Holdsworth.
