TAKEN IN DESSIE AREA CONTINUATION OF BRITISH ADVANCE. ACTIVITIES AT SOLLUM & TOBRUK. x LONDON, April 25. In Abyssinia the advance of British forces continues toward Dessie. Heavy casualties were inflicted on the enemy in this area. Over 700 prisoners have already been captured. The R.A.F. and South African Air Force have attacked enemy motorised transport, and gun emplacements, in support of the land operations. In the Solium area more aggressive actions have taken place against the enemy. The R.A.F. has destroyed or damaged a considerable number of enemy ' vehicles by bombing and machine-gun fire. Another enemy attack on Tobruk has been repulsed by the British garrison, with heavy loss and 127 Germans and Italians were taken prisoner. Four enemy planes were shot down by fighters over the town.
