CARTERTON SALE
Messrs Wright Stephenson and Co., Ltd., report:—A good yarding of sheep, cattle and pigs came forward at the Carterton sale on Thursday and was offered to a fair attendance. All classes of stock sold well up to late rates and a total clearance was effected. The following are some of the realisations:— Sheep: Fat lambs, 21s Id, 22s to 26s 6d; fat wethers, 20s to 21s 9d; forward ewes, to 9s 9d; small shorn ewe lambs, to Ils;’small woolly wether lambs, to 9s 6d; b.f. lambs, 15s 3d to 16s 'ld; shorn wether lambs, Ils to 12s 2d; woolly wether lambs, 9s 3d, 9s Gd to Ils 6d; small m.s. lambs, to 8s Id; cull lambs, 6s 6d, 7s 3d to ?s 4d; 4 and 5yr. ewes, r.w. S.D. ram, to 12s 2d; forward wethers, to 18s 9d. Cattle: Jersey cows on drop, £B, £lO to £ll lOfe; heifers just calved, £8 15s to £lO 10s; Jersey cows just • calved, to £lO ss; fat cows, £4 Ils, £4 17s, £5 to £5 10s; forward cows, £3 6s‘ to £3 «15s; store cows, £2 3s to £2 10s; cows and calves, to £6 19s. Pigs: Baconers, £2 15s to £3 6s; porkers, 35s 6d, 39s to 40s; light porke-s, 28s, 29s to 31s; store pigs, 22s Gd, 235, 245, 25s to 25s Gd; slips, Ils Gd to 18s 6d; weaners (good). 8s Gd to 9s Gd; weaners (medium), 7s Gd to 3s; weaners (small), Gs Gd to 7s; choppers, to 30s.
