MASTERTON SALE
The Associated Auctioneers report on their weekly Masterton sale held yesterday, as follows: —A good yarding of all classes of sheep came forward, but owing to the inclement weather the attendance was not large. However, bidding on good wether and ewe lambs was keen, and prices for these in our opinion were slightly in advance of those ruling at our last sale, but low condition ewes and store carryover lambs were not sought after, prices remaining on a par with last week. There was a big entry in the fat section and good fat wethers sold readily. Fat ewes which were of inferior quality made late rates. A good clearance was effected under the hammer, and the following will indicate values: A line of shorn ewe lambs offered on account of Mr E. C. White sold under spirited competition at 20s 3d, medium ewe lambs made 17s 6d to 17s 9d, good woolly wether lambs 18s, woolly wether lambs 13s Bd, 13s lOd to 14s Id, medium do 8s to 10s 4d, small do ss, 5s 6d to 7s 3d, b.f. lambs (good) 15s sd, medium do 12s, 12s 3d to 12s lOd, 4 and 6th ewes r.w.
