A warplane crashed in a fiord, near a Norwegian village. A fisherman put out in a rowing boat to rescue two airmen floundering in the water. The crowd ashore saw him drag the men into his boat and begin to row back. Suddenly he pulled in his oars, then' threw both men overboard. When he reached shore a policeman asked: “Why did you throw those airmen into the fiord?” The fisherman said: “I thought they were British, but they turned out to be Germans.” Policeman: “But they were alive when you tossed them out.” Fisherman: “One of them said he was alive, but you know what liars the Germans are.”
