A Cairo message states: "It is officially learned that the enemy has lost in the Middle East 995 planes in the air and on the ground. Since the beginning of January the Italians have lost 773 planes and the Germans 222. In the first three months of 1941. R.A.F. losses totalled only 62 pianos. and many R.A.F. pilots were saved.
