THREE BOMBERS
DESTROYED OVER & NEAR BRITAIN TWO DURING THE RAID I ON PLYMOUTH. BROUGHT DOWN BY GUNS. (BritisK Official Wireless.) (Received This Day, 1.30 p.m.) RUGBY, April 22. A communique states: “There has been some enemy activity during daylight today, mainly over South-East England, but there are no reports of bombs having been dropped in any area. Our fighters shot down one enemy bomber into the Channel this morning. It is now known that two enemy bombers were destroyed by anti-aircraft fire during last night’s attack on Plymouth.
