LADIES’ HOCKEY
OPENING OF COMPETITIONS. SENIOR & JUNIOR RESULTS. The ladies’ hockey season in the Wairarapa opened on Saturday in beautiful weather. Senior and junior games were played and the standard of play seen looks promising for the season’s competitions. Results are: — Senior. Excelsior 7 beat College 1. Kia Kaha 5 beat College Okl Girls 1. Hinemoa 8 beat Kia Ora 0. Junior. Excelsior 8 beat College A 0. Martinborough 6 beat College B 0. The game between Caarterton ladies and the Masterton Kia Ora team was played on a ground ' which was described as being in a very rough condition. It is hoped the clubs wilDhave the grass cut and the grounds generally attended to before the next games are played.
