The Masterton Harrier Club commenced its thirteenth year of activity on Saturday when the official opening of the season was held under ideal conditions. Iff spite of numerous summer sports not having completed their seasons the initial muster of harriers from both the Masterton and Kiatere clubs was most gratifying. After the run afternoon tea was served by the ladies’ committee in the Y.M.C.A.- Mr Robertson duly declared 'the seasonl officially opened. Other speakers included Mr A. L. Askew, president of the Kiatere Club and Mr G. A. Q. Ready, Masterton captain. Mi’ L. A. Keats presided. Next Saturday Masterton members are invited to attend the official opening of the Kiatere Club at the Epiphany Hall at 2.30 p.m.'
