HINDU=MOSLEM CLASHES IN AHMEDABAD NUMBER OF PEOPLE KILLED OR INJURED. SITUATION BROUGHT UNDER CONTROL. (By Telegraph—Press Association —Copyright) CALCUTTA, April 19. Twenty-two people were killed and 200 injured in a communal riot between Hindus and Moslems at Ahmedabad. Looting and incendiarism occurred. The military were called out as a precaution. A later message from Bombay states that the situation in Ahmedabad is under control. The night was fairly quiet, but today the situation deteriorated. The police and the military fired several shots when more cases of incendiarism occurred. The Government has sent strong reinforcements of armed police and is arranging to send additional troops.
