NAVAL COMMISSION
GIVEN TO MOVIE STAR. (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright.) WASHINGTON. April 19. The Navy announced today that Douglas Fairbanks, the movie star, has been given a commission as lieutenant, junior grade, in the naval reserves, but it is unlikely that he will be called for active duty at present. Fairbanks, at Mr Roosevelt's request, will tour South America in the interest of promoting cultural ties among the western hemisphere nations.
