POPPY DAY
AIASTERTON SALES REACH NEW RECORD INTERIM RETURNS TOTAL £243. WELL ABOVE LAST YEAR’S Poppy Day sales in Masterton have brought in £243 16s 3d, with several small returns still to come in, - which are expected to bring the total to about £253. Last year the total was £220 16s.
The Wairarapa R.S.A. is particularly gratified with this excellent result and wishes to thank everyone who assisted in any way in making the appeal such a success. Under the direction cf the Mayoress, Mrs T. Jordan, a large band of ladies yesterday conducted street sales and a-house to house canvas.
