Mrs Cave, of Masterton. has been the guest of Mrs J. S. Nelson, “Rosedale,” Papatawa.
' Miss L. A. Crosby has returned to Woodville' after having visited relatives in Featherston.
Miss Joan McKenna, of Saint Bride’s Covent, Masterton, ■ spent the Easter vacation with her parents, Mr and Mrs John McKenna, Waione.
Mrs J. Kemp, of Petone, has returned home from Pongaroa,-where she was the guest at the Vicarage of Mrs F. Owen.
The marriage took place recently in New York of Frances Alda, the New Zealand-born soprano, and Mr Ray Virden, a New York business man. Frances Alda was born in Christchurch and is 56 years old. She has sung more than 30 leading roles at the Metropolitan Opera House, New York.
