MEN'S ASSOCIATION ANNUAL MEETING LAST NIGHT. ELECTION OF OFFICERS. ("Times-Age" Special.) The annual meeting of the Wairarapa Men’s Hockey Association was held at Carterton last evening. Delegates were present from the Carterton, Dalefield, Old Boys and Wesley clubs, Mr J. Fisher (patron) and Mr C. N. Cole (vice-president) were also present. Mr G. Hayne (president) was in the chair. The balance-sheet showed that there was a credit balance of £9 12s 5d in the bank,, and a £lO free of interest loan, making a total of £l9 12s sd. This was considered very satisfactory considering that no King’s Birthday tournament had been held last year. The amendments to the association’s rules drawn up by a special meeting last season were adopted. Owing to a number of players going into camp to complete their training the season will not commence till May 17.

The closing date for team entries for the competitions was fixed at May

A donation was made to the Men’s Division of St John Ambulance Brigade. An honorarium was granted to the hon secretary. A visit will be made by the Rongotai Air Force team to Masterton on Saturday, April 26, when they will meet a Wairarapa team on the Lansdowne grounds. It was decided to entertain the team at a dance in the evening if a suitable hall could be obtained.

Mr G. Hayne, who has been president of the association for a number of years, retired from that position. Several of those present spoke of the good work Mr Hayne had done for hockey and the loss of his services to the association was regretted. It was decided to place on record the association’s appreciation of the services Mr Hayne had given over a long period of years. The election of officers resulted as follows: —Patron, Mr J. Fisher; president, Mr G. Maloney; vice-presidents, Messrs C. N. Cole, G. G. Hancox, Ted Hanley, L. S. Nicol, E. Tooby and J. Watkins; hon secretary-treasurer, Mr R. S. Moor; honorary auditor, Mr E.
