The deaths last night of Lord and Lady Stamp, as a result of enemy action. are recorded. Lord Stamp was Economic Adviser to the Government and one of the outstanding economists, statisticians and political scientists of our time, and, as Chairman of the London Midland and Scottish Railway Company and a director of the Bank of England, he occupied. a unique position in the business world.
