Tcampers Found.
The two Wellington youths, Worren Robbs and Maurice Forster, for whom search parties were organised yesterday are reported to have been found. The police report that one of the boys is being carried back from the Orongoorongo in an exhausted state. The other boy has bad feet. •, Services Appreciated.
At the monthly meeting of the Wairarapa Electric Power Board held at Carterton yesterday afternoon the chairman, Mr A. C. Pearce, congratulated members on the good work they had carried out and expressed the hope that they would bo returned again at the forthcoming elections.
Shoplifter Sent to Gaol. Pleading guilty to two charges of having stolen goods to the value of £1 9s 3d, Charles Peter Kenny, painter, aged 49. was convicted and sentenced to two months - imprisonment on each charge, the sentences to be cumulative, by Mr Gculding, S.M.. in the Magistrate’s Court. Wellington, yesterday. Kenny was seen lifting goods from the counter of a department store and he admitted stealing other goods that yyara found oc. turn,
Home Guard and E.P.S. Parades. There were good attendances at parades of the Masterton Home Guard and E.P.S. units last night. A Company paraded at the Drill Hall, B (E.P.S.) at the Town Hall, and C at ■the Mascot skating rink. Routine work was carried out. Women's War Service Auxiliary. The new uniforms of the Women’s War Service Auxiliary will make thenfirst official appearance in Wellington tomorrow, when about 1000 members of the auxiliary will participate in a parade through the city. Lighting Control. “We hear that in some towns there seems to be no attempt to comply with the reduced lighting regulations, said the chief E.P.S. Controller in New Plymouth Mr P. E. Stainton. at a meeting of the executive last- night. II the blackout was necessary, he said, it should be enforced. The people m Now Plymouth had co-operated generously and helpfully, but in the cities not a groat deal had been done. Some towns seemed to have made no attempt to see that the regulations were obeyed. The executive decided to ask the Minister, Mr Semple, to make his 1 promised statement immediately.
