Her Excellency Lady Newall has consented to be patroness of the New Zealand League of Mothers. Mrs G. Moore, Cole Street, Masterton, is visiting Timaru.
Miss H. Gillespie. Cole Street. Masterton, is a visitor to Wellington for a few days. Miss Helen Freeman, Wellington, is visiting Masterton, and is the guest of Mrs R. Latham, Miriam Street. Mrs A. Fulcher, of Palmerston North, has been the guest.of Mrs H. A. Styles, Pongaroa.
Mr and Mrs J. Lawson, Pownall Street, Masterton, have returned from a visit to Parapavaumu Beach.
Mr and' Mrs A. E. Mason, of New Plymouth, were the guests of Mr and Mrs E. J. Mason, Ahikouka, for the Easter holidays.
Mrs P. M. Jackson. Lyall Bay. and formerly of Masterton, who has been visiting Mrs John Ogilvy, Gladstone, has returned home. Mrs Sinclair, who has been staying with Mrs T. Jordan, The Terrace, Lansdowne, has returned to Christchurch.
The death has occurred of an old Hawke’s Bay resident. Mrs Jane Mudgway, wife of the late Richard Charles Mudgway and eldest daughter of the late Joseph McConochie, Meeanee. Mrs Mudgway came to New Zealand as a child in 186 G from Paisley. Scotland in th*e ship Strath Allan. She spent all her life in Hawke’s Bay.
