TENNIS
UNITED CLUB SEASON TO CLOSE ON SATURDAY. COMPETITION WINNERS. The United Lawn Tennis Club will close the season next Saturday with a Yankee Tournament commencing at 2 p.m. At night a dance will be held in the Y.M.C.A. Hall commencing at 8 o'clock, and at which the trophies will be presented to the various winners of the club competitions. Members are asked to make the closing day a success. At the dance it is expected that there will be a record attendance. The following were the winners of the club competitions during the season:
Men’s Championships Singles: P. Hawksworth.
Men’s Championship Singles (B Grade): H. Vollheim. Ladies’ A Grade Singles: Mrs J. Beetham. Ladies' B Grade Singles: Miss M. McLaren. Men’s Championship Doubles: P. Hawksworth and P. Rishworth. Ladies’ Championship Doubles: Mrs M. Jones and Miss R. Percy. Combined Championship Doubles: Mrs M. Hawksworth and P. Hawksworth. Men’s Handicap Singles: B. Hurley. Ladies’ Handicap Singles: Mrs P, Jones. „
Ladies' Handicap Doubles: Mrs P Jones and Miss R. Percy.
Combined Handicap Doubles: Miss N. Smith and J. Kennedy.
