PONGAROA

WOMEN’S INSTITUTE MONTHLY MEETING OF MEMBERS. (“Times-Age” Special.) Mrs Kent presided over a good attendance cf members at the monthly meeting of the Pongaroa Women's Institute.

It was decided that the Institute pay the postage on the Air Force Relations knitting done by members (61bs. each month).

Hie hope was expressed that Pongaroa would be represented at the Bush Federation meeting at Pahiatua on April 22. Several members expressed their willingness to enter the Federation's potato growing competition this year.

There were seven entries in the cookery competition which resulted: Date scones, Mrs H. Herbert 1. Mesdames Jensen and E. Berry (equal) 2. A presentation was made to Mrs F. Berry, who will shortly leave the district.

The hostesses for the meeting were Mesdames Jensen, Herbert, Meech and Miss Kent.
