Two miles. 2/ 3 Gold Chief, scr 1 11/11 Shadow Queen, 12yds 2 4/ 4 Sister Polly, scr 3 A close finish. Gallant Chief, who was fourth, led nearly all the way. Won by a neck; a head. Time, 4.32 2-5. HALSWELL HANDICAP, L?.m. 7 Molly Direct, 12yds 1 8 Kenworthy, 24yds 2 6 Bold Venture, 12yds 3 Scratched: Roan Duke.
