RANDWICK MEETING BEAU VITE BEATEN. ALL AGED PLATE TO GOLD SALUTE. (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) SYDNEY, April 16. Soaking overnight rain and a morning deluge made the course heavy for Ladies’ Day at Randwick today, resulting in poor fields and times and the triumph, of lightweights.
Beau Vite found Gold Salute his master in heavy going, the latter revelling in the conditions to win the All Aged Plate with a lot to spare. In the Champagne Stakes the rival budding champions Yaralla and All Love clashed again. This time All Love prevailed after stalling off a hot challenge by Prince, who is very little inferior* to either Yaralla or All Love.
Proud Fox looked like winning the Coogee Handicap but failed to see out the distance. The Cumberland Plate was a boilover, Tranquil Star atoning for her inglorious showing on Saturday by staging a runaway victory today. A few hoots signalled her return to the weighing enclosure. Results: —
