Training Operations at Opaid (BY "THE GRAFTER.") Training operations at Opaki have been interrupted by the wet weather this week, but even so many of the horses are being eased in their work as no immediate meetings are in view. Several of the Opaki-trained horses will shortly undergo special training for those events which are associated with winter racing. Indian Sign Wiped Out. G. R. Tattersail has been riding without luck for some time, but at Feilding he wiped out “The Indian Sign” with a grand winning ride on Authoress. It was not expected that Authoress would be at home in the soft going, but Tattersail rode the perfect race, and his mount was not required to cover* an extra inch of ground. Always well placed, he made a fast run to the front when heads were turned for home, and although Indian Sun stuck on gallantly Authoress was never in real danger of defeat.
