A Middle East communique states: “The British advance in Abyssinia has been resumed toward Dessic, while in the southern areas a vigorous pursuit of enemy detachments is being continued.” A Nairobi communique states: “On the road to Jimma, our troops have reached the River Omo, 1(10 miles south-west of Addis Ababa, having bridged, the River Awash. A column moving south from Damn occupied Asselle without opposition. “Large quantities of material were taken in Addis Ababa, including surveying equipment valued at £10,000.”
