SERVICE OF PRAYER

WEEKLY MEETING. AT METHODIST CHURCH TODAY. The weekly service of Intercession was held in the Methodist Church this afternoon, there being a good attendance. The first, session was conducted by the Rev. V. W. Joblin, his subject being “God's assurance shines through i the darkness of days such as these.” The Rev. D. McNeur conducted the second session, taking for his subject “The answering of our Prayers.” Mr McNeur in the course of his -address said: “The answering of our prayers is conditional on our being in a proper state to have and enjoy them. We must be prepared to do some of the Work ourselves, as Geo. Elliot said: ‘God could not make Antonio Stradivari's violins without Antonio.' Because we are all one family of God some of the children suffer because other children are wicked. God is waiting till his other children rise up and say ‘this suffering shall not be.’ It is in His power, and His alone we can accomplish this.”
