GERMAN TARGETS
ATTACKED. IN DAYLIGHT R.A.F. OFFENSIVE PATROLS. BREST AGAIN HEAVILY RAIDED. An enemy bomber and two fighters were destroyed yesterday, the 8.8. C. reports, during a British offensive patrol over the Channel. One British fighter is missing. German targets were attacked in full daylight. Off the Netherlands coast a convoy of supply ships escorted by fighters and patrol vessels was attacked, but owing to poor visibility the full results could not be seen. One ship of 4000 tons was seen to be hit, and direct hits were secured on two power stations. Several encounters with enemy fighters did not prevent the British planes from pressing home their attacks. A strong force of bombers again attacked the naval base at Brest, the raid lasting for four hours. Hundreds of heavy bombs were dropped in the clock area, where it was posible to confirm the fact that the two German battlecruisers, Scharnhorst and Gneisenau, are still berthed. Bombs were seen to burst either on or very near the ships.
