JUNKERS SHOT DOWN
WHEN ATTACKING FRENCH NAVAL CRAFT. , iiLUi: (British Official Wireless.) (Received This Day, 11.40 a.m.) RUGBY, April 14. The Free French naval headquarters announced that on the morning of April 12, the submarine chaser No. 41, belonging to their forces, was attacked by an enemy plane whilst on patrol duty at sea. “Our chaser,” the report states, "immediately fired with all its weapons and our gunners saw that the plane, a Junkers 88, was hit. This was confirmed a little later, when the plane nose-dived into the sea. Our chaser sustained no casualties or damage.’’
