WAIRARAPA V. HAWKE’S BAY SENIOR GAME. VISITORS BAT V7ELL. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) NAPIER, This Day. The Wairarapa and Hawke's Bay senior teams met on Saturday at Napier.
The home side’s first innings produced JB6 runs (Gibbs 42, Ellis 35, Stevens six wickets for 67 runs). At the close of the day’s play Wairarapa had lost three wickets for 170 runs (.Coleman 73, Roys 73 not out).
JUNIOR GAME.
EASY WIN FOR HAWKE’S BAY. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) NAPIER, This Day. In a junior game between the two associations the, visitors were able to make only 34 in their first innings (Colbert six -wickets for 18, Toothill foui' for 10). Hawke’s Bay replied with 266 (Colbert 134 retired, Painter 33 not out, Liley five wickets for 46). ' Wairarapa’s second strike produced 112 runs (Schofield 36, Young 24). The home side won by an innings and 120 runs. .
