TOURNAMENT IN MASTERTON GOOD PROGRESS DURING WEEKEND. HAWKSWORTH BEATS LEADING WELLINGTON PLAYER. Good progress was made with the Wairarapa Tennis Association's championship and handicap tournament, during the weekend but. following the heavy rain which fell this morning the I\ospects of play today are extremely unpromising. Some excellent tennis was seen on Saturday and yesterday. P. Hawksworth scored a notable victory when he defeated R. McKenzie, of Wellington, a Wilding Shield player, in the third round of the men’s championship singles.
