EXTENSIVE R.A.F. ATTACKS ON INDUSTRIAL GERMANY & OCCUPIED AREAS. RAIDS ON ENEMY SHIPPING. R.A.F. bombers, fighters and Coastal Command planes on Saturday made an extensive daylight sweep over enemy occupied territory, the 8.8. C. reports. Bombers penetrated deep into the heart of industrial areas of Germany and bombed targets north of the Ruhr, and off the coast of Holland shipping was attacked. A number of important targets on and near the coast were bombed and machine-

gunned. Coastal Command aircraft machinegunned two enemy supply ships and destroyed an enemy fighter. Gun positions were also machine-gunned and silenced and another fighter destroyed. One patrol attacked an aerodrome and two fires were started. In all these daylight operations three machines were lost.
