DISPUTE SETTLED

TROUBLE AT WESTFIELD. WORK TO BE RESUMED. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) AUCKLAND, April 11. The 1400 employees at the Westfield freezing works, who ceased work on Wednesday afternoon when a dispute developed with the management over proposals to increase the output of the department, decided on Thursday afternoon to resume work on condition that the issues are t submitted to a conference of parties when work resumes on Wednesday.

Negotiations were conducted by Mr C. L. Hunter, conciliation commissioner. The works were idle through; out Thursday. No work will be done on Tuesday, as it is being observed as one of the unpaid holidays under the current award.
