FEATHERSTON
BOROUGH AFFAIRS MEETING OF COUNCIL. (“Times-Age" Special.) At the monthly meeting of the Featherston Borough Council a letter was received from the Wairarapa Electric Power Board asking for the seal of the council to be affixed to agreement in connection with power to be supplied to the pumping plant at Abbotts Creek. It was resolved that the seal be affixed. The Internal Affairs Department forwarded £lB 15s for the upkeep of soldiers’ graves. The sum of £5 was received from the Featherston County Council towards the library fund. The Masterton Municipal Silver Band wrote accepting invitation to take part in the Anzac Day service. The secretary of the National Art Gallery wrote asking for a donation towards its funds. It was resolved that a sum of £lO be granted. It was reported that Bank balances were: —District Fund Account, credit, £845 10s 2d; Cemetery Account, credit, £55 12s 3d; Domain Account, credit, £2l 2s; Mayor’s Relief Fund Account, credit, £BO 14s 9d; Water Supply. Loan 1936 Account, credit, £lBO 4s; Library Account, credit, £BB 13s lOd. Personal Items. Mrs R. S. Poole and Miss' Mary Reid, of Wellington, are “visiting relatives. Miss Nancj’ Ryan and Miss June Card. Wellington, are in Featherston for the Easter holidays. Miss N. Dockery. Wellington, is the guest of Miss Janet Lawson. Mr and Mrs W. Robinson left on Friday on a visit to Tauranga.
