JAPANESE MINISTER'S STATEMENT INCREASING AMERICAN ASSISTANCE. (Dy Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) TOKIO, April 10. The Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs. Mr. Ohashi, addressing provincial governors. said his opinion that the United States will strengthen assistance to the Chungking Government on the basis of Mr. Currie's report, for which reason Japan “must be prepared to meet the situation with patience and determination.'' . In this connection he said Chungking was making an effort to improve the Burma route, also building a now railway between Burma and Yunnan province.
