From many parts of Britain come reports of German air attacks last night. They lasted several hours. Some districts experienced sharp attacks. but there was no heavy attack on any one district. Some damage and casualties were caused in south-west and south-east Scotland, and in other widely separated areas in England and Scotland. Night fighters destroyed five enemy aircraft. A few single enemy aircraft have flown near the coasts in daylight, but no bombs were dropped on land. Two enemy planes were destroyed by our fighters without loss, a bomber being shot down in the sea off the Suffolk coast and a fighter was destroyed near Cape Griz-nez.
