Drunken Motorist Fined.

Charged with having been intoxicated when in charge of a motor car, Chester Laurence Simpson, grocer, who pleaded not guilty in the Magistrates’ Court. Wellington, yesterday, was convicted and fined £3O by Mr. Luxford, S.M. Simpson also had his driver's licence suspended till May 31, 1943. Daylight Saving.

“The regulations providing for the extension of the half-hour of summer time all the year round will be brought, down soon,” said the Prime Minister, Mr. Fraser, yesterday. At present the period of the operation of summer time in New Zealand is from the last Sunday in September to the last Sunday in April. This year, therefore, daylight saving would end normally on April 27.
