WOMEN’S INSTITUTE BIRTHDAY MEETING. (“Times-Age” Special.) The tenth birthday meeting of the Tinui Women's Institute was held in the Tinui Hall when Mrs I. Speedy presided over a fair attendance of members. Mrs Street was presented with the silver cup which she won for the most points in the competitions for the year. Mrs J. Bennett and Mrs Mac Alister were elected the delegates to attend the conference meeting in Masterton on April 30. Afternoon tea was served by the committee. Miss Junker gave a demonstration on first aid. which was much appreciated. The competitions resulted as follows: Best piece of embroidery: Mrs O'Hara. I: Miss C. O'Hara. 2; Miss O. Owen, 3 Eggless fruit cake: Mrs Beck. 1; Mrs O'Hara, 2; Mrs G. Mclsaac, 3. Best bloom: Mrs Johnston, 1; Miss N. O’Hara, 2; Mrs Street, 3.
