WEDDING
BARRAUD—-RIDDIFORD. I A wedding of wide interest took place quietly at St. Matthew’s Church, I Auckland, on Saturday afternoon, i when Miss Alice Patricia Riddiford, i twin daughter of Mrs H. F. Nicoll, Ashburton, and formerly of Masterton, and the late Mr Earle Riddiford, was I married to Corporal John Slingsby Barraud. R.N.Z.A.F., Whenuapai, second son of Mrs Barraud and tile late Mr Arnaud Barraud, Palmerston North. The Rev. W. G. Heerdegen officiated. the bride, who was escorted by Mr Blair Birkett, wore a simply tailored frock of dusky pink crepe, with a navy veiled toque, and navy accessories. She carried a small bouquet of white chrysanthemums. She was attended by Miss Joan Preston, J Christchurch, who also wore a simple ; frock of dusky pink crepe. Her veiled, toque was of brown felt, and she car-! vied a bouquet of pink carnations. Mr ; C. G. Cutter was best man, and Cor-' poral Prior Hoadley and Sergeant. John Morley, Royal New Zealand Air Force. Hobsonville, were ushers at the ’ church. After the. ceremony a reception, which took the form of a cocktail party attended by a few intimate friends, was held at the home of Mr and Mrs Birkett, Takapuna. The guests were received by Mrs Nicoll and Mrs Birkett. Mrs Nicoll wore a gown of black crepe romaine panelled in grey, and a black hat. Her silvergrey fox furs were pinned with a • spray of fuchsia-toned flowers. Mrs Birkett chose a black frock ornamented with gold, and a small black hat. Mrs J. S. Barraud was formerly a pupil of St. Matthew's Girls' Collegiate School, Mastertcn.
