JOINING THE FORCES
LOCAL RESIDENTS HONOURED. GATHERING IN MASTERTON. A pleasant evening was spent at the residence of Mrs Norman Beetham, Kourarau, on Saturday, when about seventy people gathered to farewell Mr and Mrs Norman Beetham, Miss Nan Rishworth, Messrs Peter Rishworlh, John Coom and Alfred Tinkham, all of whom are joining war services. Mr lan Macßae spoke appreciatively of the guests of the evening, and wished them every success and a safe return. On behalf of the gathering. Mr H. A. Harcombe presented Mrs Beetham with a cosmetic case, and Mr Beetham with a cigarette case.
Dancing was held and supper served,the gathering being a most enjoyable
