TAXATION FIGURES IN U.S.A. (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) (Received This Day. 9.50 a.m.) WASHINGTON. April 4. Forty-two persons paid income taxes on individual incomes of one million dollars or more last year. The number of million-dollar incomes was eight fewer than in the preceding year, but experts attributed the change to technical factors in reporting capital gains. The 42 paid a total of 46.000.000 dollars Federal income tax on 1939 incomes. The millionaire class last year was about the average for recent years, but far short of the record of 513 who paid 191.000.000 dollars in taxes on 1929 incomes.
