DUTCH LINER

.—o AVAILABLE AS HOSPITAL ,'SHIP. MOST GENEROUS GESTURE. (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright); CANBERRA, April 1. The new Dutch 20,000-ton motor liner Oranje has arrived at an Australian port, having been made available by the Netherlands East Indies Government for use as a hospital ship for Australia and New Zealand. The Acting Prime Minister, in making this announcement, said that the Commonwealth Government, and doubtless the New Zealand Government, regarded the Netherlands Government’s action as a most generous gesture, more particularly as the cost of conversion and the subsequent manning of the Oranje would be borne by the Netherlands Government.
