ST. MARK’S VICARAGE WORK OF RE-MODELLING. (“Times-Age" Special.) Splendid progress is being made by the contractors in the re-modelling of St. Mark's Vicarage. It is expected that the work will be completed next week and that the vicar, the Rev. W. F. Stent, will be able to get back into residence before Easter. PUBLIC BEQUESTS UNDER WILL OF LATE MISS STRANG. Under the will of the late Miss Mary Isabella Strang, who died at Masterton on February 2, 1941, the following public bequests are made: — t. The Presbyterian Church, Gladstone, £500; to be used for the general work of the church. The committee of the Memorial Square at Carterton, £lOO, to be used for the upkeep or improvement of the Memorial Square. The Public Trustee is appointed executor and trustee. CARTERTON GOLF CLUB SEASON TO OPEN ON APRIL 19. The Taratahi Golf Links will be open for play as from Saturday. The official opening will take place on Saturday, April 19. Parcel Evening. The Belvedere School should be well filled tomorrow evening when a parcel evening and dance will be tendered to Miss Eileen Garrett in honour of her approaching marriage. .Football Club. To night the official opening of the Carterton football season will take place on the showgrounds with a combined practice of all grades. From present indications, the seniors will field a very good fifteen. Tar Sealing. The borough staff has made good headway in the work of tarring and sanding the borough streets and footpaths. There should not be much of the work left undone when the wet season sets in.
