April 2. 1 The Canadian dollar, rose more than I 21 cents in a free market to 87.75 cents, the best since September, 1940, reflecting unconfirmed reports from Ottawa that a foreign exchange agreement is under consideration by the United States and Canada, whereby the Canadian dollar will be accepted at par. ________
