RAFFLE DRAWN
COLLEGE STREET SECTION WON BY JOHNSONVILLE TICKET HOLDER. OTHER PRIZES TO LONGBUSH AND TINUI. . ■ The raffle for a section in College Street, Masterton, and other prizes was drawn in Masterton last night. The prize-winners were: — First prize.—Building section, College Street: Ticket No. 10659, Frank Manning, Taylor Terrace, Johnsonville. Second prize.—Studebaker car; Ticket No. 4537. J. Homer, Longbush, Masterton. Third prize.—Bicycle: Ticket No. 9691, David Schofield, “Peach Grove,” Tinui. The drawing was made in the presence of the Mayor, Mr T. Jordan, Messrs J. T. Jameson, president, and A. P. Bennett, secretary of the Carnival Committee, the Town Clerk, Mr G. T. O’Hara Smith, and the police. Miss Jose Hosking, who was crowned queen of the carnival, drew the first prize ticket, Miss Audrey Burling the second, and Miss Marion Holdsworth the third prize tickets. The proceeds of trie raffle amounted to £124 Is.
