EKETAHUNA
BABY SHOW CONDUCTED BY PLUNKET SOCIETY. ("Times-Age” Special.) At the Eketahuna sports the baby show, as usual, was conducted by the Plunket Society committee. The results were as follow: —Baby under 12 months: Ruth Simpson 1, Marlene Trillo 2. 12 to 18 months: Margot Petersen 1, Joy Jensen 2. Over 18 months: Janet Daniel 1, Rosemary Raleigh 2. A competition in aid of the club’s funds was won by Mr D. Greenwood, Masterton. The following were the results of motox- events at the athletic sports:— Motor events: —Light cars: Men, P. S. Page 1 and 2. Ladies, Miss N. Greathead 1, Mrs A. Wake 2. Heavy cars: Men, D. Falkner 1, — Curry 2. The potato race resulted as follows: —Treader 1, Falkner 2. Personal.
Pilot Officer A. T. Maudsley, R.A.F., England, son of Mr J. Maudsley, formerly of Eketahuna, has been awarded the D.F.C. Five of his brothers and his only sister are in uniform. Two of the brothers are in the New Zealand forces.
