ORDER OF ODD FELLOWS LOYAL HEART OF OAK LODGE. (“Times-Age” Special.) The fortnight!}’ meeting of the Loyal Heart of Oak Lodge was held last evening and was presided over by P.G. Sister Eagle in the absence of the N.G. A letter was received from the secretary of the Wellington District Hospital Association notifying that single members on active service overseas would be relieved of contributions and that married members would be covered provided the wife paid the contributions. Sick pay totalling to £lO was ordered to be paid and other' accounts amounting to £5B 6s were passed for payment. P.G. Bro. C. J. Fisher notified that he would be leaving the district to reside at Hope in the Nelson district. It was resolved that he be issued with a letter of recommendation. Members expressed regret at his departure. • CARTERTON FOOTBALL CLUB ANNUAL MEETING. The annual meeting of the Carterton Football Chib was held in the Fire Brigade Hall last evening. The president! Mr. A. E. Reid) presided. Prior to the commencement of busines, the chairman referred in sympathetic terms to the death of the late Mr. F. Smith, and a vote of condolence with his relatives was passed. The annual report and balance sheet were adopted. The following new members were elected: Messrs L. Monaghan. O. Daysh, R. Blake. T. Personal Items. Mr and Mrs H. G. Hughan, of Pembroke Street, returned home last evening after a holiday spent in the north. Culling of Deer. The culling of deer on the Tararua Ranges is being carried out. One of the rangers, Mr Basil fßlatchford, who was accompanied by Mr W. Spooner, on Saturday killed several deer. Mr Spocner was able to collect a very nice 12-pointer, the head of which he brought to Carterton for mounting. Druids' Annual Ball. The annual ball of Totara Lodge of Druids will be held on Monday, May 26, not May 19 as previously announced. This fixture is- always looked forward to by lovers of dancing and this year’s gathering promises to eclipse all previous efforts. Strong committees have been formed to carry out the work connected with the ball. Vital Statistics. The following are the vital statistics for March: —Birihs, five; deaths, four; marriages, five. The figures for the quarter ended March 31, are:—Births, nineteen; deaths, eight; marriages, seven.
