STATE THEATRE

"WHERE'S THAT FIRE.” The current programme at the State Theatre headed by "Where’s That Fire?” will be finally shown tonight. “STREET OF MEMORIES.” The change of programme tomorrow will be a double feature one. “Street of Memories” is a moving story of a homeless, hungry boy with no money, no past, and no job, and features Lynne Roberts, Guy Kibbee, and John McGuire. As an outcast boy who has lost his memory, McGuire falls in love with Miss Roberts on poverty-stricken "Skid Row.” Her attempts to rehabilitate him and their fight for a chance in life, provide an unusual love story. An unusual and entertaining comedy starring Lynn Roberts, Ted North, EdgAr Kennedy and Robert A.rmstrong. “The Bride Wore Crutches" is the other feature on the particularly attractive double-feature programme. The action lakes place principally against newspaper and gangland backgrounds. and involves a stupid cub reporter who tries to solve a hold-up with the aid of his crime-chasing sweetheart, a pretty newspaper woman. The reporter chases gangsters, but ends up capturing policemen and getting thrown in jail himself. Every headline is a headache to the reporter and everything he does seems to go wrong, it is even his fault when the bride wears crutches, because he arranges that little upset too, in audition to his other bungling.
