WAIRARAPA ASSOCIATION SENIOR CHAMPIONSHIP FINAL MATCH OF SEASON. The final match of the 1940-41 season was played on the College ground on Saturday afternoon between the Wairarapa College and Lansdowne elevens and resulted in an innings victory for the former. In Lansdowne’s first innings Welch bowled exceptionally well. He sent down eight overs for 14 runs and five wickets In an equal number of overs. Stevens took four wickets for 30. In Lansdowne's second strike. Welch took four wickets for 21 runs in six overs, and Stevens two for 19 in four overs. In Lansdowne's first innings W. Whiteman was the only batsman able to cope with the bowling, and he compiled 16 (including a 4) by good strokes. A. Wellington.—Winners of the Wellington Cricket Association’s' senior championship, Kilbirnic team, beat a team representing the other senior clubs in a one-day match at (he Basin Reserve on Saturday by 9! runs. Kilbirnic scored 249 and The Rest. 158. The Wellington Mercantile Cricket League's championship competitions wore concluded on Saturday. The only grade not previously completed was the A grade, in which Working Men’s Club and Amalgamated Bricks were level. Bricks were unexpectedly heated by Hannahs, Working Men’s Club thus carrying off the
