FATAL COLLISION

MOTOR CYCLE ANO LORRY TWO MEN KILLED. TRAGEDY NEAR TTRAU. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) AUCKLAND, March 30. A fatal motor accident occurred on the main highway near Tirau. at 6.30 p.m. yesterday, when two men were killed. They were:— Peter Rawson, aged 50, a Maori, labourer, married, of Putaruru. John Livingstone, aged 44, teamster, single, of Tokoroa. Messrs. Rawson and Livingstone were riding on a motor cycle between Putaruru and Tirau when the machine became involved in a collision with a motor lorry driven by Mr John Simpson. Putaruru. Both the rider of the motor cycle and the pillion rider were thrown heavily ' and both suffered severe head injuries. Mr. Rawson died immediately and Mr. Livingstone died within an hour, before he could be removed to hospital. Mr. Rawson left a large family. Mr. Livingstone, who came from Scotland, has no relatives in New Zealand.
