STATE THEATRE

“WHERE’S THAT FIRE?” The trio of play-writers for “Where’s That Fire?” to be shown at the State Theatre this evening, have seen to it that the stars’ fans get what they want from beginning to end. Will Hay, Moore Marriott and Graham Moffatt dominate the film and put over a crazy comedy with every sequence a welter of riotous slapstick. Technically, the film reveals all the efficiency and ingenuity for which the studio unit is noted. The settings and atmosphere are realistic, and the authentic shots of fires ablaze are masterpieces. There is an interesting long shot descriptive of the approach to the Tower of London at night. The photography is at all times effective and responsible for - a general sense of realism, whilst skilled editing was essential to complete the snappy treatment set forth by Director Marcel Varnel and writers J. O. C. Orton, Vai Guest, Marriott Edgar. There will also be screened an excellent array of featurettes which includes a Sports Review, “Sea Kings,” news reels and a colour cartoon. There is no booking fee and seats may be reserved at the theatre or at Adcock’s booking office.
